The effectiveness of the grain industry in the Republic of Tatarstan (economic article)
In the article questions the economic efficiency of the grain industry in the Republic of Tatarstan, an assessment of the achieved level of economic efficiency of grain production, are determined by the estimated quantities of grain production in Tatarstan and other regions of the Volga Federal District.
In the Volga economic region, the Republic of Tatarstan has a special place, it has a high level of gross agricultural output. With a 2.2% agricultural lands, RT produces 4% of its agricultural products. Tatarstan is the basis of crop grain production.
Grain production is the leading sector, not only farming, but the whole of agriculture. The strategic nature of the product, the scale of the grain industry, extensive inter-industry linkages have a significant impact on the state of the economy of the Republic of Tatarstan.
In some years, grain production per capita RT more than 2 tons. In the not very fruitful in 2004, for example, the republic produced 1,019 kilograms of grain per capita, but it’s at 37 and 47 percent respectively higher than the average for the Volga Federal District and the Russian Federation as a whole. Grain yield in 2004 in our country was also significantly – by 42 and 30 percent respectively, higher than in the Volga Federal District and the Russian Federation.
Analysis of the gross grain harvest in the last decade has shown that the production of these products in the region is subject to considerable fluctuations under the influence of weather conditions. However, the alignment of the time series of indices with a linear trend indicates that the positive dynamics of change in volume of grain production in the country and even some increase of this indicator in the forecast until 2010 (Fig. 1).

Grain – a strategically important product, the state grain farms depend on Food Security of the country, providing the population with bread and meat. Grain production cost is inherent in the multifunctional character, affecting the entire agricultural sector. Being an integral part of, the grain industry largely determines the standard of living.
